Sewing and Quilting Photos from Customers

At this time of year, it’s always good to reflect and consider what we have achieved. So, I’d like to take some time to celebrate the huge achievements of the Overdale quilting and sewing community.

Below are some images that have been shared with us recently – all made with fabrics from Overdale Fabrics.

We always love seeing the projects that our talented customers are working on. If you would like to share your latest make, you can upload a photo here.

Absolutely love this colourful quilt from Yvonne. It was made as a leaving/retirement present for a teacher colleague.

… and the back of the quilt is just as impressive.

This striking star block cushion is from Susan…

… a nice envelope opening is on the back of the cushion (you can learn how to do this in our free cushion tutorial here)

Squares can look great when used imaginatively in a quilt, as Jane has done here. This quilt was made for her baby granddaughter.

These log cabin blocks look wonderful, from Hazel.

Here’s a great action shot of Hazel using her free motion foot.

Squares, half square triangles and quarter square triangles – just one word to say… perfect!

This is a super cute doll’s dress and hat from Beverley.

Wow, what lovely work on this lap quilt from Sue, which was made for her niece’s 30th birthday.

I love the geometric shapes and gradation of colour in this beautiful quilt from Juliet. This quilt was submitted as her final assessment piece for a Level 3 City & Guilds accredited Textiles course – if it was down to me I’d give Juliet a distinction!

Here’s a closer look at some of the lovely batik fabrics used…

Fantastic finishing – close up of the stitching and binding.

This lovely infinity scarf is from Selena.

Natalie’s colourful tote bag features batik fabrics that are set off nicely against the turquoise blue background.

What a wonderful use of fabric colours and design in this slipknot quilt from Susie. This was a wedding gift for a daughter’s friend.

Really nice table runner and quilted placemats from Lisa.

Here’s a close up of the accurate stitching work – great job!

This wonderful Japanese Knot bag was made by Helen, using our free tutorial. Here’s a link to the Japanese Knot Bag tutorial, if you’d like to make one yourself.

Here’s a rainbow-inspired applique cushion from Pam, which was made for her great granddaughter. Thea is a very lucky girl!

This is a real show-stopper from Rebecca. Lovely ‘birds and bees’ inspired theme and inspirational quilt block designs. It was made as a dog quilt to protect her daughter’s sofa.
