Returns Policy

Overdale Fabrics. This policy explains your rights and our procedure for returns and refunds.

1. Your Legal Rights (Distance Selling)

Under UK consumer law:

  • You have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days after you receive your goods, for any reason.
  • Once you have told us you wish to cancel, you then have a further 14 calendar days to return the goods to us.
  • We will issue your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof that you have returned them).
  • Refunds will include the original standard delivery cost but do not include return postage charges unless otherwise stated.

This statutory cancellation right applies unless the item is exempt (for example, bespoke/personalised goods made to order — see Section 6 below).

2. How to Start a Return

To begin a return, please:

  1. Contact us within 14 calendar days after receiving your item to tell us you want to cancel/return it.
  2. Email us by using the contact form, including your order number, item(s) and reason for return.
  3. We’ll then tell you how to return the item.

3. Conditions for Return

Items must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition you received them,
  • Returned in original packaging, and
  • Returned with proof of purchase (order number/receipt).

If an item is not returned in a resaleable condition, we reserve the right to reduce your refund accordingly.

4. Refunds

Once we have received the returned goods:

  • We will inspect the items and notify you of the outcome.
  • If your return is approved, we will refund the amount due to your original method of payment.
  • Refunds will usually be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item (or proof of return).

Please note: return postage costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to a fault or delivery issue.

5. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your item is faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or full refund under UK law, regardless of the 14-day cancellation period.

6. Items Not Eligible for Return

Certain items cannot be returned unless they are faulty under consumer rights law:

  • Personalised or bespoke items made to your specifications
  • Fabric which has been specifically cut to length for the customer
