Quilting and Patchwork Course in Oxford with Sue Hazell

Cindy and I recently had a great time on a one-day patchwork and quilting course in Oxfordshire, run by Sue Hazell.  You can see that we have been able to create a lovely quilted cushion each.

Although Cindy is quite advanced at sewing, neither of us have had much experience of quilting. We learnt absolutely loads and Sue made the whole day entertaining and fun.

There were 8 of us in the class and we all cut the same basic pieces from our fabric. After arranging them in our desired patterns before sewing, it was amazing to see the difference in designs on our panels.

Sue was previously a sewing machine demonstrator and she is an expert on knowing her way around a machine.  This was valuable when it came to sewing the patchwork panel together.  You can see that we were both pretty pleased with our results!

We completed our cushions when we arrived home by placing coordinating fabric on the back and creating an envelope cushion cover.

If you like these fabrics, Cindy created her cushions using fabrics from the “Pink, Red and Green, Vintage Style” fat quarter bundle.  Paul created his with fabrics from the “Vintage Blue Bundle”.
