New Batik Fat Quarter Bundles Have Arrived

I’m delighted to share our latest collection of batik fabrics with you!

Batiks have always been one of my favourite fabrics to work with. Every piece is slightly different because the designs are created using a traditional wax-resist dyeing process, by artisan makers working by hand. That means no two fabrics are exactly alike, giving your sewing projects a unique character that can be difficult to achieve with printed fabrics.

I love using batiks in quilts to add a pop of colour and visual interest. They’re also wonderful for appliqué projects, where the subtle variations in shade create depth and movement. Even a small piece of batik can become a focal point within a design.

Whether you enjoy quilting, patchwork, textile art or English paper piecing, batiks are a fantastic way to introduce extra colour and texture into your work.

Alongside these new bundles, I’ve also added a beautiful selection of batik fabrics by the metre in a wide range of colours and designs.

Buying batiks by the metre is a great option if you’re planning a larger project or looking for that perfect fabric to coordinate with your existing stash. I often find that a metre or two of batik can transform a quilt by adding contrast, colour and texture.
