Fabric Covered Padded Coat Hangers

I made these fabric covered coat hangers recently to jazz up my wardrobe. These are easy to make and practical – I’m planning to hang my new cashmere jumper that I had for Christmas on mine.

To create these covered coat hangers all you will need is:

• A wooden coat hanger
• 2 pieces of fabric (about an inch bigger than the coat hanger on each side). I used 2 fat quarters.
• Wadding to cover the hanger
• Embellishment – ribbon and button

I choose two coordinating fabrics that I had in my stash. I recently bought them both from a local fabric store having falling in love in the wonderful vibrant colours and plush texture. The floral one is velvet and the other is velvet fleece.

Padded coathangers also make ideal gifts. If you really want to make something special, you could place some lavender inside to give a natural fragrance to your wardrobe.
